Current Stock
Find an item or lot and understand its quantity, location, stage and availability.
The green Stock pages help you record what you have and keep its observations together. You can follow one item separately or follow a quantity together as a lot. Give each item or lot a stock number so you can return to its own history later.
Use these pages to add something arriving, check what remains or write a note. The guides below also explain how to group stock for shared work without losing each member’s separate record.
Use Add Stock for things already on the farm when you start, and for later arrivals from outside. Choose a lasting label on Stock numbers first, then enter what arrived, how much there is and where it is kept.
The new row is a draft until you finish checking it. Choose the completed entry on the next empty line of Post entries. When the result says Accepted, it is part of the stock figures. The detailed guides show each step and where to check the result.
Current Stock brings the entries together to show the amount left, its place and its stage. It shows both what is physically recorded on hand and what is marked ready to use, so you can distinguish stock occupying space from stock ready for the next job.
Use Stock notes to write an observation about one stock number. If you are entering it later, record when it happened as well as when you wrote it down. Read Notes & History to see those observations together. A separate move, hold or loss entry records any action you decide to take.
A batch is a named group of stock numbers. Create the group on Batches and use Batch membership to record who belongs to it. Each member keeps its own number and quantity; grouping them does not mean their contents have been mixed.
Use Batch notes for an observation that applies to the group. Saving it through the additional tools keeps a record of the members it affected at that time. The batch guides explain that save step and how to read the note later.
