Your farm. A connected picture.
Farmer’s Helper
Know what you have.
Follow how it grows.
Bring your stock, production and daily work together in Google Sheets. See what is on your farm, where it is and what has happened to it, with the history behind each item or lot close at hand.
Farm records become more useful when they connect. A quantity tells you what remains; its source, movements, observations and work history help explain how it got there. Farmer’s Helper brings those pieces together so you can understand today’s position and look back when a question comes up.

A clearer view of your farm
- See what is available. Review quantities, locations and stages, including stock that is present but held or not yet ready.
- Keep the story with the stock. Follow sources, production, notes and changes without piecing the history together from disconnected records.
- Keep plans and actual work clear. See what is due, record what happened and distinguish a planned task from a completed stock change.
What you can manage
Start with the way your farm works, then use the connected sections to record and understand its day-to-day activity. Each section in the menu has detailed help for its individual features.
Set up your farmMake the spreadsheet fit your operation
Set up Farmer’s Helper to match your farm: name your products and varieties, describe the forms of stock you keep, choose how you measure them, and define your locations and production stages.
These details provide the options in your dropdown menus, so you can select familiar names when recording daily work instead of typing them again.

StockKnow what you have and where it is
Record incoming stock and follow either individual items or quantities kept together as lots. Current Stock brings the remaining quantity, location, stage and availability into one view. Stock numbers give each record a lasting identity as it moves through your farm.

Activities & lineageFollow production back to its sources
Connect new production or a harvest to the stock it came from, including work with more than one source. Record what was used and what remains. Lineage helps you follow those relationships later, so an output has a history rather than becoming an isolated number.

Stock changesKeep changes understandable
Follow movements and stage changes, record actual use or loss, and manage assessments and holds. Corrections have their own history, helping you distinguish a mistaken entry from something that really happened on the farm.

Notes & batchesRemember the details behind the numbers
Keep dated observations with the stock they describe and review them alongside its history. Batches help you manage related stock together, including shared notes. Recording an observation stays separate from a decision to change quantity, stage or availability.

Work & plansSee what needs to happen next
Plan dated work, follow task progress and use stage timings to help organize growing and handling cycles. Work history keeps completed activity in view. Keep your plan alongside a separate record of what actually happened.

Google CalendarView your planned work on a calendar
See planned tasks in the spreadsheet’s Calendar view, or connect a dedicated Farmer’s Helper Google Calendar for another way to visualize upcoming work. Send updates from the spreadsheet when you want that calendar to reflect your latest plan.

Review stock and work needing attention, then use stock and activity summaries to look across your records. Move from an overview to the individual history when you need to understand the details behind it.

MaintenanceKeep older history within reach
Archive eligible finished history, retrieve it when needed and restore it to the working records. Backup and update guidance helps you keep a separate copy before maintenance. Archive and restore are being tested as part of the preview.

Work in a spreadsheet, with help where it matters
Farmer’s Helper is designed around the familiar Google Sheets workspace. Use the worksheets to enter routine records and review the results, with focused tools for tasks such as applying a farm template, making corrections or connecting Calendar. Your entries and results stay in view, with additional guidance for tasks that need it.
Some features use the Farmer’s Helper add-on. The feature guides explain which tools are needed and how to use them; copying a workbook alone does not install the add-on.
