Farmer’s Helper · Set up your farm

Locations

Name the physical places where stock can be kept or found. A location describes where stock is, while a stage describes a step in its growing or handling process.

Location

Use a name people at your farm will recognise, such as Greenhouse, Shelf A, Cold storage or Packing area. Make the name specific enough for someone to find the stock.

Within larger area

Choose the existing location that contains this place, or leave it blank for a standalone location. For example, Shelf A can be within Greenhouse. The larger area must be available in Locations. A location cannot contain itself, and two locations cannot contain one another. This relationship organises your places; it does not move stock or combine their quantities.

Show in dropdowns

Choose Yes if you want this to be an available option in your dropdown menus. If you choose No, it will not appear as a new option. Existing records are kept.

Reference keep unchanged

This reference connects this setup entry to its saved history. Leave it unchanged.

Locations and stages serve different purposes

A plant can remain in the Growth stage while moving from Shelf A to Shelf B. It can also change stage while staying in the same greenhouse. Record a real move or stage change on Move or change stage. A suggested place in setup does not perform either action.
