Stage plans

Describe the stages within each growing or handling process, their usual order and the timing, location and work you want to plan for.

Growing or handling process

Select the process containing this stage. Create the process on the Processes tab first. Each stage belongs to one process.

Stage

Name one step, such as Germination, Growth, Harvest or Packing. A stage name can appear in different processes; its process tells you which sequence it belongs to.

Order

Enter a different whole number for each stage within the same process, starting with 1. For Tray growing, Sowing might be 1, Germination 2, Growth 3 and Harvest 4. This describes the intended order; it does not move stock through the stages automatically.

Expected days in stage

Enter the usual number of days you expect stock to stay in this stage, or leave it blank when a duration is not useful. This preview keeps the estimate as a planning reference. It does not create a due date or change a stock record when those days pass.

Reminder lead days

Record how many days before the expected end you normally want to check the stock. A 10-day stage with a 2-day lead means checking around day 8. The lead cannot exceed Expected days in stage. In this preview, record the actual dated check on Task changes; this setup value does not create a reminder by itself.

Suggested location

Select the physical place normally used during this stage. This is a planning suggestion. It does not replace a stock type’s Starting location and does not move existing stock. Record actual moves on Move or change stage.

Suggested work

Describe a useful action for the stage, such as Check germination or Prepare for harvest. Leave it blank when no action is needed. This preview keeps the wording as a planning reference; enter work you want to schedule on Task changes.

Stage reference keep unchanged

This reference connects this setup entry to its saved history. Leave it unchanged.

Planning and recording are separate

These rows describe the usual process. Work plan and Calendar display the dated work you have recorded through Task changes. Move or change stage records what actually happened to stock. Changing an estimate or suggestion here does not rewrite those records.
